Some New Hobbies
Ken got me a sewing machine for my birthday and for the last 2 weeks I've been making slow progress on my first quilt. I call it a pajama quilt because it is being made from a variety of different flannel night time patterned materials. Emma is looking forward to its completion. I'm wondering if I should have finished the quilt before attempting to blog...there is a limited amount of free time in each of my days. Computer fun is addictive.
I've been lucky today with having more free time than normal. Emma has a friend over and they are including Madeline in their play. They are spending hours in Emma's room involved in imaginative games. In general they are either puppies or kitties. Jack's kennel comes in handy.
I thought it was pretty cute when Madeline fell asleep with her footin the air. Is this picture showing too much shoulder to publish online?
Check out the scientist finding a fossil! There is a really good chance that my blog entries are going to seem like they are without a point. It was my fear of being unable to think of good/witty things to write about that has kept me from blogging until now. I'm going to give myself permission to be undirected as I write. I remember being in a writing class several years ago. In this class the students would do a variety of exercises. One was called the "golden thread". In this exercise all of the students in the class had to start writing and could not stop until the exercise was over. If they were not coming up with anything they had to be drawing circles on the papers (which I'm not sure how to do with a keyboard....maybe something like z;rfjioajua;fa;4ei....but that doesn't feel as good as drawing circles on a paper). Maybe I'll name this blog "Golden Thread"-- That will keep it really low pressure. :) I should google that first though to make sure there are no strange meanings attached to those words.
