Going on day five...
Going on day five of Madeline's fever. She has been such a trooper. Her head has been giving her more trouble since last time I blogged... and her lips. She has dry lips and won't leave them alone. I have chapstick handy, and she gives into it occasionally but not enough to save her from the flap of skin that is hanging from her lower lip. She is fully traumatized by it. Crying she asked for me to get the flap of skin off. When I suggested clipping it off because it was dead skin she was hugely upset by the idea claiming that it was alive. So now, it is coated with chapstick and she is struggling through. I think it might be the worst of her flu so far. I better start getting more fluids into her.
I am feeling socially starved from being housebound for the last few days. When I am at work I always get a lot of adult interaction from my colleagues, when I am at home I always get a lot of adult interaction from my mom friends. When I am sick at home I rely on g-chatting! Where are all the green balls!!! It seems like people haven't been online. Nicole, why aren't you on my g-chat list? Do you use that feature?
I have very much enjoyed surfing other peoples blogs over the last few days. I go really far into Nicole's friend web, from those who comment on hers to those who comment on theirs and so on.... it is like a "chicken soup for the mother's soul" sort of a venture. I can get caught up reading for hours.
Emma is still healthy!!! Whooohooo!
Ken is still healthy!!! Whoohoooo!

Yay that Ken and Emma aren't sick!!! Boo that you and Madeline are. :( So sorry. Sick sucks. All the way around.
I had to laugh at the chapstick thing. Ella goes through AT LEAST a tube every two weeks. That child has the most chapped lips I have ever seen. What's the deal? I pick at mine all the time too. I suppose maybe it's learned. Oops.
I will say a prayer tonight that Madeline feels better tomorrow and just keeps improving from there. It really is hard on everyone when little ones are sick. It's easy for everyone else to get stir crazy too.
Love you-
