Ahhhh

Madeline just fell asleep. THANK YOU GOD! Emma is still laying peacefully in bed. THANK YOU GOD! It has been a busy and satisfying day. Dad and I picked up the drywall we are going to use to drywall the stairway (hopefully tomorrow), I exercised (which was a really big deal), I emptied out half of Madeline's closet with the intension of filling up the car and heading to St.Vinny's, and, I am blogging. :)

In the process of cleaning out Madeline's closet I found a bunch of toys and crafts that the girls haven't played with in ages. It was like coming home with a bunch of new things. They were entertained for two hours with the things that I kept pulling out.

A few weeks ago I moved the big Jack chair that was in front of the front window because Jack was ruining the chair and the windows were constantly slimed. If it was a bedroom window or side window I wouldn't have been bothered, but it was our MAIN window to the outside. When we first moved the chair Jack by habit flew into the air (he is a really good vertical jumper) to land on what use to be the chair so he could watch my Dad leave (and whimper and cry as he walked to his car). But, the chair was no longer there and Jack actually landed on the tiny window sill, then fell to the ground. He has gradually adjusted to the lack of chair but out of guilt tonight I put a bench in front of the window so that Jack could have his window view back (thanks Mom!). He is a much happier pup.

Hopefully he won't slime up the windows too much. I am wishy washy about how good his life is supposed to be. Currently he is spooning with Emma in her room. She never tires of him. Although dogs scratch up floors, destroy yards, traumatize cats, make greeting visitors borderline overwhelming, and slime up windows, I have no regrets on giving Emma a gift that she never seems to tire of. The main thing that holds up our mornings (other than Madeline's specific clothing needs) is Emma kissing, hugging, playing with, training and talking to Jack instead of brushing her hair and teeth and getting dressed.

I'm off to bed. I am going to exercise again tomorrow (making a strong positive statement...holding onto the idea that words have power).
