1/2 Way Travel Ready!

I've 1/2 way packed the girls for their stay with my mom. I have 1/2 way packed myself for our trip to Canada. Whoo hoo, Yipee! Tomorrow morning we are on our way. I had intended to do a large blog today and to quilt too but ended up filling the day with Madeline, her 3yr old friend and laundry. I feel such peace when I am caught up on laundry. I have no regrets.

Tonight Emma has a friend staying overnight. They both have the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Dogs. It is hysterical to watch them love on and train their virtual pets. I don't know if any of you have played this game before but it is actually pretty fun. The dogs are so realistic that petting them is very satisfying. They are so responsive in such appropriate ways. Emma has to pull it from my hands when I am petting one of the pups (with the little wand on the touch screen). I am pretty sure that Jack is getting jealous of all of the dog praise he hears being directed towards the machine. The tone that the girls use is so obviously meant for a puppy.

Madeline is passing the time coloring and taping paper plates. She claims that she is making mouse traps. I hope she doesn't know something about our house that we don't! "Can I catch a mouse for a pet? If he crawls up on my head I'll let him stay. He likes cheese, I'll give it to him everyday...." Since I am pretty sure that she won't be able to catch a mouse with her trap, I said "sure".
